Brunswick and Coburg are where most of our Saturday jobs start. Californian bungalows and Edwardian terraces on narrow streets, plus a wave of newer apartment blocks along Sydney Road and the Upfield line, which means half our bookings here involve a lift and the other half involve a 40 metre carry.
The single biggest cost factor in this area is Sydney Road itself. The clearway makes a truck illegal on the kerb between 7:00 am and 9:00 am and again from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, so we start early in the side streets or book a temporary parking bay through Merri-bek.

Sydney Road clearways
No stopping 7:00 am to 9:00 am and 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. We plan uplift for 9:30 am or book a bay.
Rear laneways
Many Brunswick terraces have a bluestone laneway behind. Good for a 4.5 tonne truck, too tight for an 8 tonne.
Permit parking
Residential permit zones across Coburg. Merri-bek issues temporary works permits with five business days notice.
